Geneva: BHRC will organize a seminar on 22 September

Geneva:

The Baloch Human Rights Council will organize a seminar on 22 September 2022, during the 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The title of the seminar is, “Baloch lives matter: Aspects of human rights violations in Balochistan”.

For many decades, Pakistan has committed gross human rights violations in Balochistan. These included the physical elimination of Baloch social and political activists, cultural domination and the ruthless exploitation of Baloch resources. Enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and the discovery of mutilated bodies of Baloch human rights defenders and socio-political activists are aspects of human rights violations. From January 2022 to July 2022, 205 persons went missing, and 58 bodies of extrajudicially killed missing persons were identified.

Representatives from various oppressed nations and prominent human rights defenders will deliberate on the subject matter.

Further details about the venue and timing for the seminar are provided below:

Venue: Warwick hotel, Rue de Lausanne 14, 1201 Genève, Switzerland

Time: 2 pm
